UNSETTLED: The Case They Carry is about those lawyers and that one case they still can’t stop thinking about. Hosted by Luke W Russell, creator of the award-winning podcast Lawful Good, and Julia Metts, a trial lawyer and former prosecutor and law school professor.
Each episode, one trial lawyer takes us inside the case they still carry. The sleepless nights. The marriage it strained. The victory that didn’t feel like one. The loss that still lingers. What they believed going in, what they got wrong, and what it changed about how they view themselves, the practice of law, and the world around them.
Lawyers who carry their cases this deeply are the ones who carried their clients through it all. These are their stories.

Julia A. Metts is the Managing Trial Attorney at Elizabeth Zwibel Law in St. Petersburg, FL. With her decades of experience as a former prosecutor and professor at Stetson University College of Law, Julia brings a deep passion and creativity for trying cases as well as the complex human experiences for all parties involved.

Kat W Russell has spent her career in media and arts, bringing organizations creative ideas to life. She joined forces with Luke to build HCI Films, co-directing and producing many projects centered on healing from trauma, including their feature documentary Braving Healing: The Documentary.
